Taunton Parks and Flowers.

Taunton, that gem of a town in Somerset,South-Western England is a many facetted place, full of flowers and green places and spaces. A multi times winner of Britain in Bloom awarrds and rightly so. Its Parks department surpass themselves every year.
Everywhere you go in and around the town, in the parks, on roundabouts, and anywhere a flower border or hanging basket will fit, there will be one.
This year 2009, there was an amazing show all summer of huge clusters of mauve and purple petunias in troughs and baskets and every concievable container and the way in which they are maintained is second to none.
Long may it continue, it is just one of the reasons that I for one,and I am sure many others are proud to belong to this great community. |
